DIY enthusiasts to visit home show July 23, 2010
Home improvement fans may flock to the Herald Newcastle Home Show this weekend for decorating and renovating inspiration.
The three-day event - which kicks off today (July 23rd) - offers visitors ideas, tips and expert advice in home improvements.
PJ Promotions, the event coordinator organising the show, said in a statement: "You don't necessarily need to be a qualified tradie or builder; you can simply be looking for some innovative ideas or just have an interest in what's new in the market."
Gardening enthusiasts may be excited to hear TV gardener and author Don Burke will be making appearances throughout the show.
Furthermore, cleaning and home hints guru Shannon Lush will be on hand to give advice on how to spruce up a home.
Described as the leading home exhibition in the Hunter, Manning and Central Coast regions, the annual show comprises 400 exhibitors.
Recently, editor of Real Homes Michael Holmes noted that it is now cheaper than ever to make energy-efficient changes to dwellings.
Simple measures such as roof insulation can save 15 to 20 per cent on heating bills, he explained.
